Since 2020, we have provided over 4,000 Wayuu children with critical care.

La Guajira, Colombia

The Wayuu — Colombia's largest indigenous people — live in one of the most remote and arid regions of South America. Malnutrition, parasitic disease, and lack of clean water threaten thousands of children. Our mobile clinics travel deep into La Guajira to bring pediatric visits, anti-parasitic medications, essential drugs, and vitamins directly to families who would otherwise go without. Since 2020, we have reached over 1,500 children through our partnership with NuevaLife, a trusted local organization deeply rooted in the Wayuu community.

We're expanding this work. HCI is now training and partnering with local Wayuu doctors and health workers, so care can be delivered by trusted members of the community, more often and more sustainably, between our mobile clinic visits.
