Short-Term Missions

Hope

Imagine your child desperately needs lifesaving surgery or medical treatment. But there are no adequate clinics or hospitals in your remote region of northern Nicaragua. The one childrens hospital in the country is in the capital city, Managua. And even if you could get there, the understaffed facility may not be able to save your child. It may not have the equipment or specialists needed. This is the definition of hopelessness facing the families we serve.

By bringing medical professionals to these regions, training and working with local doctors and clinics, we bring hope to the poor.

Get Involved

Hope Clinic International's work relies on the volunteer involvement of medical and surgical volunteers who raise the money to go on our medical mission trips or fund the trip themselves. They take their expertise to the poorest of the poor.

We also need Spanish translators who are assigned to help non-Spanish speaking doctors or to communicate with the pharmacy. Translators do not need to be fluent, but should be able to understand and communicate colloquial Spanish.

And of course we need financial contributors who fund the cost of supplies, equipment and more. There are plenty of ways for you to play a part!

Make an Impact

You can be part of what we do! Hope Clinic International sends medical and surgical teams two to three times a year for two week trips to Nicaragua in February, June, and November. Volunteers may elect to come for one or two weeks. The purpose of our international mission program is to provide donated medical and surgical help to women and children where medical and/or financial resources and skills are not available. Our mission is built on Judeo-Christian principles that value the dignity of the human person and gives preference to the poor and those without hope.

FAQ and Volunteer Letter and Application Form

Want to go on a medical mission trip? We are looking for people who can work to build positive relationships, affirm the value of the individual and culture, contribute to respect for self and others, and bring hope to the poor.

Evaluate

We continually evaluate our efforts to provide sustainable care, especially given the unique cultural, economic, and social conditions of the country where we work. We adjust to fit the culture. We don't expect the culture to adjust for our ease or comfort.
